From The Bronx was started with a mission to help improve the image of The Bronx, New York and to prove to the world that The Bronx is as rich with culture and history as any other city.
Since its inception, From The Bronx has worked with some of The Bronx’s leading designers, artists and photographers to bring original Bronx-themed merchandise to market and has established itself as the premiere designer and creator of Bronx-themed merchandise in the world. With a love for music, art and all things New York, From The Bronx is firmly rooted in the City's lifestyle and culture and has amassed an online following of over 120,000 people across several social networks.
In 2013, From The Bronx merchandise was featured in The Museum of Modern Art’s (MoMA) Destination: New York gift shop collection. The Bronx-themed products were available in 3 of MoMA’s locations - New York City, Korea and Japan. We have also worked with French Artist and TED award winner JR on a project entitled South Bronx (S)heroes, dedicated to the women and families of The Hunts Point section of The Bronx. The project was featured in the HBO Documentary Inside Out: The People's Art Project.
As part of our work promoting our merchandise and the borough, From The Bronx has hosted several “pop-up shops” or short-term retail spaces. Each pop-up shop was designed to promote a sense of community and local pride through a playful and fun atmosphere in historically landmarked Bronx locations. These pop-up shops served as an impetus for our sister companies, The Bronx Beer Hall and Taste of The Bronx.
